Gaia is our second satellite, which we made for the 2025 national CanSat competition.
Durable, modular, redundant.
These three words could best describe Gaia
Redundant primary mission.
The satellite is equipped 12 temperature and air pressure sensors, thereby allowing it fulfill the primary mission with 12-fold redundunacy.
Muon counter
The satellite uses a plastic scintillator and a silicone photomultiplier (SiPM) to determine the muon flux, which can be used to perform muontomographic experiments.
Camera
The satellite is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, which records video onto an SD card during its mission. When compared with data from the muon counter, this can be useful, for example, for mapping mines.
