What happened to our team this year?
🏆 2024-es CanSat competition
Last October, we began developing a soda can-sized satellite for this year's CanSat competition, whose primary mission was to study wind currents. Building a satellite is a multifaceted yet highly exciting challenge, and our team successfully rose to it. On the day of the final (5 April 2024), the Athena rockets of the BME Suborbitals team launched the ten teams with the best project reports—including our CanSat—to an altitude of nearly 1.5 kilometres.
Our simulated satellite mission was successful, and based on the data collected during the mission, we had to prepare a presentation for the second day of the finals. Our team received the Special Award for Technology for its project.

🚀To SPACE! On board the Hunity…
Following the 2024 CanSat competition, our team was given the opportunity by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, with the support of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, to design an ID photo-sized (4.5 × 3 cm) experiment for a real 3PQ satellite. According to the current plans, the satellite will be launched to an altitude of 600 km aboard a SpaceX rocket in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Our team enthusiastically accepted the opportunity, and after nearly six months of dedicated work, our experiment was completed. Its primary objective is to measure cosmic radiation by investigating a special liquid.

The development of our CanSat satellite for next year's competition is already in full swing in our team's laboratory.
Our team has grown, and we are now continuing our work with the help of three additional team members.
